There is a great video by Elder Oaks – and I quote his beginning – of the talk Good Better Best –
Most of us have more things expected of us than we can possibly do. As breadwinners, as parents, as Church workers and members, we face many choices on what we will do with our time and other resources.
For both the video and the text –
Jesus commended Martha for what she was doing (v. 41) but taught her that “one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (v. 42). It was praiseworthy for Martha to be “careful and troubled about many things” (v. 41), but learning the gospel from the Master Teacher was more “needful.” The scriptures contain other teachings that some things are more blessed than others (see Acts 20:35; Alma 32:14–15).
For me it’s more important to be stretched in doing things – the natural man or the flesh does not want to do, but that the spirit knows I need to do – to grow, to stretch and become more like my Better ( divine self )…
How do I know I’m doing that? – Because I generally don’t want to do it at first!!…
I laugh but you know it’s true!!…
The more I do those things – I don’t want to do ( at first because they are inconvenient or difficult ) as I do These things – the more I’ll grow in the things I need to grow in… the inconvenient areas of life – the difficult things of life!!…
We can change and become better…
Be true – work on Repentance – Faith – Humility and diligence to change….
Conditional Statements of God! Many begin with If statements – If ye keep my commandments – abide in his love…
Sins must be Resolved – if men come unto me – humble themselves before me, weak things become strong…

God’s grace is sufficient…
Change according to Lord’s pattern – first is Humility, natural man is an enemy to God… humble enough to Repent – yield our hearts to God – have faith in Christ…
Enabling Power of his Grace… Christ has the power to heal and strengthen us…
Come forth and harden not your hears – perform your labors… must change and Repent…
The last part of the above talk –
Brothers and sisters, our divine destiny and purpose is ultimately to become like our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. We do this as we change, or repent. We receive the Savior’s “image in [our] countenances.”24 We become new, clean, different, and we simply continue to work at it every day. Sometimes it may feel like two steps forward and one step back, but we continue to humbly move forward in faith.
And as we humble ourselves and exercise faith in Jesus Christ, the grace of Christ and His infinite atoning sacrifice make it possible to change.
I witness and testify that Jesus Christ is in reality our Savior and Redeemer. His grace is indeed sufficient. I declare that He is “the way, the truth, and the life.”25 In the name of Jesus Christ, amen…..
